[Updated for 2022] Rick, a former investigator, and myself were on a paranormal team for the better part of 4 years, with several other individuals at a time. Some people came and went during my stint there, and one who came into the mix was a gentleman who self-identifies as a psychic medium. We witnessed some really weird behavior when only ourselves and this person were sent to the basement of a former Masonic temple during a paranormal investigation. As Rick explains in the video, the purpose was to "prove" this individual's alleged abilities to us - which is already a very problematic and narrow idea to act on in the paranormal. Proof of any sort is nonexistent, but to send two team members to experience a new member's psychic abilities on command is the most narcissistic and ridiculous call of leadership I've seen. And I've seen some bulltish in my time in the paranormal. The experience ended up feeling and looking like theatrics, and ultimately ended up being a confusing one. After that session in the basement, the medium in question expounded on how floored we must have been to see him channeling. On command. As one, assuredly does...(not). Rick and I didn't speak of it much after that night until this video was filmed, but we'd ended up able to investigate that building more after that strange first time, thankfully. Don't worry, another chaotic "seance" story looms on the horizon.
This is the reality of working with a self-proclaimed psychic on an investigation team, and one dickered night due to attempted proof of the paranormal. I have a right to speak my own truth, as anyone does, so this is the night an attempt was made to manipulate myself and Rick into believing the new team psychic's alleged abilities.
